I WRITE BIOS.
I am a puzzle and immersive experience designer, violinist/violist/composer, letterboxer, printmaker, and origamist. I am an avid collector of niche hobbies, and I’ve managed to turn some of them into my career.
I studied music and computer science at Wesleyan University, then spent the following few years working as a software engineer at Google. All the while, my love for puzzle hunts, escape rooms, and alternate reality games continued to grow, and in 2019, I left tech to pursue puzzle design full-time.
With my company Enigmida, I’ve helped to create magical, puzzle-filled, perception-shifting experiences for a wide range of clients and collaborators, from a Michelin 3-star restaurant to a curiosity-centric design journal. I also spent a year as the in-house puzzle designer at quant trading firm Jane Street.
I’ve also continue to solve puzzles at a breakneck pace: I've played 800+ escape rooms, and I've contributed 300+ reviews, articles, and interviews to Room Escape Artist. I've also participated in dozens of puzzle hunts, and I’ve been on the winning team of the MIT Mystery Hunt in 2021 and 2025.
In the music realm, I currently play fiddle with Baymele, a klezmer and Eastern European folk trio. We’ve played concerts all over the world, and we’ve released 2 albums so far: Sapling (2025) and Kosmopolitn (2022) with Tsvey Brider. I’ve also dipped my toe into theater, playing violin in the critically-acclaimed 2022 production of Indecent at the San Francisco Playhouse.
